Arctic Summer Through A Shaman’s Eyes
Yes, summer actually occurs in the Arctic Circle! Grass grows, fresh water flows and tourists sprout everywhere!
Our friend, Shaman Stian Berg, lives in Norway and occasionally passes along gorgeous photos of his treasured homeland.
(Above) Giant shiploads of tourists disembark in Bodø, Stian’s hometown, to take in the sights.
(Below) Norway’s dramatic beauty grips the senses year-round, and the summer visitor to Norway will find grassy slopes, glassy seas and brooding islands.
(Below) By January, the harbor will be frozen over and the sky will be painted with Northern Lights and faint traces of a sunset settled 24 hours a day on the horizon. In summer, the sun climbs to reveal a lush landscape.
Stian writes to update this summer’s weather and his plans for how to deal with it– a vacation!
Hello. Now it’s time for some new pictures. It’s just going well up here in the north. We’ve had a bad summer .. Around 50 Fahrenheit .. But it looks better now. We will be soon to Krakow on holiday .. We shall be there for 14 days.
Hope you are doing well.
Best regards Stian Berg
I must confess, sitting here in Kentucky beneath a broiling sun and bathwater humidity, Stian’s cool and crisp sanctuary looks and sounds pretty darn good!
Sincere thanks, Stian!
Aho & Namaste,
Bob
