New Thunder Valley Drums Website In The Works

Out with old! A current page on the TVD site.

The old site has needed a facelift for quite a while, but being that I’m a drum maker and not a Web design geek, I found the whole idea intimidating because there are so many pages and so much stuff. I’d much rather be making drums!

But the hosting service I use recently insisted that I step up to a newer site builder program they’re implementing, so I had no choice. I waded in.

I’m not sure how long the old site has been active, probably six or seven years, and in that time I had a tendency to fill up every page with as much information as possible, and to then make more and more pages with more and more info. So now it’s like trying to clean out an infinite closet crammed full of the stuff one is hesitant to throw out.

An experimental update of the page shown above.

Nowadays, Web design has taken a refreshing turn toward the lean and clean, and I’m digging the idea. But there’s so much digging to do on that old site! For sure, though, I’m making progress by eliminating many pages, reducing the length of commentary, and making overall navigation a whole lot easier. It’s difficult to show you the massive amount of stuff I’ve tossed out of the old closet, but here’s a sneak peek (left) of the experimental model.

You may notice that I’m considering a change to the logo. The old one is shown at the top of the page.  What do you think? I’d love to hear.  After all, it’s a work in progress, and you have a say. Without you, Thunder Valley Drums would not exist!

Aho & Namaste,
Bob
